Abstract
This paper addresses the issue of representation of educators of color in the Boston Public Schools (BPS) system in relation to the student demographic. Research suggests that teachers of color help students of color overall academic performance. The capstone is based on a workshop that was hosted at Brighton High School targeting admin staff to raise awareness of the importance of educators of color. The results showed that staff do understand the importance and are working towards hiring more teachers of color but lack the strategies to do so. The implication of the research is that more work needs to be done on recruitment.
