Abstract/ Summary
Augustine studies must enter into the conversation about our ecological crisis through the portal of Environmental Studies. We will draw an analogy between empire and what in Environmental Studies is called the Anthropocene. Augustine's critique of empire offers deep insights for a critique of of the Anthropocene, and provides a context within which to explore themes to enrich contemporary Environmental Studies.
